Quality eLearning design looks good and feels good. It is accessible, easy to use, meaningful, and meets the needs of our learners. I design learning experiences that effectively deliver learning outcomes and engage learners.
Interactive and engaging learning that can be accessed using multiple devices and platforms.
What I do
User-centered design: Quality eLearning design starts with the needs and preferences of the learner. I create learning experiences that are easy to navigate, visually appealing, and engaging for the learner.
Clear learning objectives: While most learners don’t really care about the course learning outcomes, crafting well-constructed and measurable learning outcomes is critical to the curricular design process. Quality eLearning design clearly communicates the learning objectives to the learner. This helps learners understand what they will learn and what they need to achieve by the end of the course.
The approach to design
Interactive and engaging: I design courses that are engaging and motivating for adult learners. Quality eLearning design is interactive and engaging, with a variety of multimedia resources, such as videos, simulations, quizzes, and interactive activities. These resources should be designed to promote active learning, where learners engage with the content and apply what they have learned.
Effective feedback: My design process uses feedback at all stages of the course design process. Quality eLearning design provides learners with effective feedback to help them understand their progress and identify areas for improvement. Feedback should be immediate, specific, and actionable.
The multi-platform learner
Consistency and simplicity: I work with SMEs and content curators to develop content that focuses on content learners need to know versus content that is nice to know. Quality eLearning design is consistent in its design and delivery, with a clear structure that is easy to follow. The design should be simple, with a clear and concise layout and language.
Mobile compatibility: Today’s learners use multiple platforms and devices to access and use information. I design courses responsive to all devices – laptops/ desktops, tablets, and mobile devices. Quality eLearning design is compatible with mobile devices, making it easy for learners to access the course anywhere and anytime.
